Would an xbox live code from the USA,work over here (the UK)?
I can't see why not as it is just a code afterall.

Each individual xbox has its own IP. The code varies through IP so I would like to think it would not work on your system since the IP address setup is not that of Canada or the US.

Maybe those servers for UK members located in UK so they need pay the server admins in Pound.. :)
