Jasper: The Cure for Red Ring of Death?

The very newest Xbox 360s have Jasper chips — a tech that promises to end the dreaded Red Ring of Death forever. But does it work? And how do you identify a Jasper 360?



Microsoft started shipping the 360 equipped with the Jasper motherboard in November 2008. It has a much bigger heatsink for a smaller CPU. Microsoft is betting this will end the RROD that has plagued the Xenon motherboard.

good find.360 Jasper motherboard features redesigned with 65 nanometer graphics processing chips. Cooler running, more energy-efficient sum-of-parts that are intended to make the infamous Red Ring of Dead is a thing of the past.
