The Xbox LIVE Diamond Card program is gearing up for a couple of changes in 2008. The most significant being that ownership and administration of the Diamond Card program will become wholly run by PASSPORT UNLIMITED. In conjunction with this change, the card will have an annual subscription attached to it, a nominal sum of $6.95 per year, open to anyone.

Additionally, from January 1, 2008 through February 28, 2008, no new registrations will be processed in order for the registration system to be migrated over to PASSPORT. Once completed, PASSPORT's new SSL registration site is anticipated to launch on March 1, 2008. This registration system will allow users to enter a credit card for the annual payment.

Furthermore, current members will remain on the program free until their memberships expire in 2008. Any future renewal will require payment of the new fee. Members with renewal dates in the January – February 2008 timeframe will continue with access to the Diamond website (i.e., access the deals, coupons, etc.) during that time. If Diamond Card members wish to renew, they will need to do so at PASSPORT's new registration site after March 1, 2008.

What exeactly is Xbox Live Diamond and how do you sign up...through their website?

I can say I am in the Diamond Club but I have never used any of its perks. As a matter of fact I have never seen any communication from Xbox about the "Club" since joining.
I can't even remember what it was supposed to be about. I pressed a button on line to join it and got a confirmation Email and that was it!

the xbox live diamond card gives u discounts at a number of different places and they are adding more companys. example: gamestop gives $10 off any purchase online of $70 dollars or more. there are also resturants that also are a part of the diamond club discount. it is a good deal. I'm a lil upset because they are charging for it now when it used to be free for members that had a 12 month gold membership, but it is still a really good program with a lot of discounts at a lot of different places. for 6.95 a year its not bad.
