Gamerpoints
I feel that Microsoft should give a reward or something after you completed a certain amount of gamerpoints. Anyone else feel the same way? I think it would get gamers to participate more and buy a lot more games too. I think it would be a good marketing strategy for Microsoft. I'm actually surprised they haven't done it yet. Like for instance, you get around 2,000 gamerpoints you could get some free Marketplace Points or a free arcade game or maybe even a free 360 game. Something.... What you think?

At first I was trying to accumilate gamerpoints, then I just gave up. I just play the game for fun rather than worrying about the stupid gamerpoints. I just think it would be pritty sweet if we got some sort of recognition on this

GameInformer ran an opinion article on Gamescore & achievement points in their March issue (latest one with Vader on the cover). I think it would be pretty cool if they rewarded folks for high gamescores, really shows that they are dedicated and loyal xbox gamers. I guess that it would only apply to Live users though, since you can get achievement points in single player without any connection to Gold or Silver Live.
Personally, I don't go after Gamescore, but if I see an interesting achievement listed, I'll try and go for it. If anything, just to compare my achievements with friends and have the bragging rights.

I'm kind of surprised the big companies don't do any prizes, like Team Xbox, IGN, Game Informer. Did you guys know that 20th Century Fox owns all of those websites: Team Xbox, IGN, Gamespy, FilePlanet, 3D Gamers, Direct2Drive and others. Would be nice if Fox decided to hold some tournaments and such.
Xboxliveclans.com isn't that big yet, but you can count on us to hold some tournaments and give away some prizes. We'll prolly start of small with stuff like market place points and games, then eventually do some free counsels. We like to award our active members .

Quite impressive...just pulling off IGN's footer:
IGN.com | GameSpy | Comrade | Arena | TeamXbox | GameStats | Planets | Vaults | VE3D | AskMen.com | CheatsCodesGuides | FilePlanet | 3D Gamers | Direct2Drive | Rotten Tomatoes | GamerMetrics
Would be nice if these companies offered some sort of perks, but I'm sure they would bump heads with Microsoft somehow, someway

I've noticed some of the big companies try to take out the competition if there is any. Look at Google and Youtube, Google now owns Youtube. Before you know it I bet some company is going to buy craigs list. I haven't even heard of any really populated xbox sites other than xbox.com and teamxbox.com, seems as though companies are trying to take hold of the internet also. I just would like to see some incentive other than talking to each other on a site. Believe me these sites rake in some big cash, would be nice to see them share some of it with some of the gamers.

Sad thing is that these companies report first to their investors and stockholders before they report to the gamer. Money makes the world go round...

And that is why we get a crap load of titles that suck. They make games to accomodate the lowest common denominator. Last game that made me want to smash my controller was Ninja gaidan on the xbox. I remember the days when I would play a game till my thumbs bled jst to beat a boss. And there were no gamer points involved, just the desire to beat the game. Now, I Blow through a game in hours and usually it only takes hours because of the length of the game and not the difficulty. One reason my favorite game was a flop (operation flash point elite), it had a learning curve and you had to think about how to complete a mission, you couldn't rambo through it. Poor game never got the chance it deserved.

Well, www.xbox.com/rewards is set up to have more challenges than just the Old Spice one, and hopefully it'll have more and better prizes. So, it looks like you got your wish.
