Xbox 360 is getting a new HDD ?
Rumor has it that Microsoft is going to repleace the current 20GB Hard Disk Drives with new 60GB drives. This rumor is said to be "as good as confirmed" within Microsoft. But what will be the reason of this replacement? Maybe bigger Arcade games. As you may know, the XBA size limit has already been expended from the usual 50MB limit to 250MB, which could even be enlarged to 450MB. This is all pretty certain, and it could be one of the main reasons why the 20 GB HDD would seem too small.
Another reason is that the PS3 has a bigger HDD, which means that M$ can't stay behind and has to put a bigger HDD in it's console te fill the gap. But, the Elite was already equiped with a 120GB HDD, so it still doesn't really makes sense.
Anyway, what do you, as a hardcore user, want to do with a 60GB HDD? After you played a couple of demo's, which are around 1GB each most of the time, you decide if you buy the game or not, and you delete the demo. Sometimes you may feel to watch a HD movie trailer. But after you've watched it, you delete it, right? So what do you want to do with 60GB inside your 360?
We're not going to get it anyway, unless you buy a new 360. The replacement is said to take place before Q2 '08, so we'll see it soon enough.
