To me, i feel that you cannot compare Halo 3 and COD4. This is the simple reason that they as FPS games at opposite ends of the scale of realism. I guess it is a case of "each to their own."
Halo 3 is, as Hangman said, not intended to be realistic - the concept of a human (even with enhancments) performing acts such as dropping from unscalable hights and shaking it off is simply for the sake of enjoyment; for a game to play with ideas that realism does not allow. It is a game I personally enjoy playing, and even though it is approaching a year old, it still is one of the best experiences of online gaming on a console in present times.
COD4 is an exceptional game, and dont get me wrong i enjoy every minute when i play it. The realism adds extra challenge to the gameplay and the storyline is one of the best for modern shooters out there. If i want a competitive gmae, where i know that every shot from simple pistol could be a game winner, COD4 is the game i turn to.
But lets be honest: gaming is all about having fun. If you impose your personal opinion on others, degrading their game as lesser to your favourite, then it can make people uncomfortable. And that ruins the point of gaming.
Besides, who do you think will look at this thread and think "you know what? ill trade in Halo 3 for COD4" because the chance is any serious FPS consloe player will own both games.
If you want a challenge, then play COD4. If you want something less serious, play Halo 3. Either way, it is a rewarding experience.
Just let people play what they want.
