You guessed it, this is for the full game, my impressions, opinions, and in-sights.
Overview: You know what the game is about, at least you should, if you don't;
Forza Motorsports 2 is a sim/arcade racing game. Not to further arguments or such, but thats what Forza and its arch nemesis Gran Turismo are, sim/arcade racers. The main point of the game is to go through a career path, winning races, subsequent prizes (like cars), and basically progressing through the game. There is no story, if you want story, don't play racing games. You can also take part in "arcade" mode which, among many things, puts you into time attack races, having to beat a certain time, in a pre-selected car which you cannot fool with. Thats the basic overview.
Into the impressions,
As soon as you start the game up, you are first with you first challenging decision, patching the game. Thank god for XBL eh?
Finally into the game, you have a choice between a number of things, Arcade mode, Career mode, Options, yahdah yahdah. Everyone should instantly pick career, this is where you will spend 1000% of your time with the game.
Basically career is strait forward, pick a home region (Asia, America, Europe) and with your measely 12,000 credits, buy your first ride. Depending on what area you choose, will effect what cars are open to you for purchase. After you pick your car, its racing time! Only one race area is open, the Proving Grounds. In the Proving Grounds you are stuck racing on a certain group of tracks. There are about 6 or 7 of them, trust me, you won't want to keep count. Essentially all of these races are simple, low restriction races. Restrictions will range from cars that are made in Asia, cars that are FWD, or cars with big motors. I finished this area as fast as I could.
Onto the other racing areas. This is where the game becomes interesting-er. Not to say I didn't enjoy the first area, but the tracks aren't real, and poorly imagined, unfortunately. Not to give away the whole game I will stop here...
Gameplay: Excellent. A simple answer. The game plays exactly as it should, a console sim racer. Its forgiving to new people, and can be borderline real to racing vets, through the tweaking of some settings of course. The tried and true method of winning races, getting money, make car better, win better races for more money, etc... Works here at its best. Controls are spot on, no worries here.
Physics: They deserve their own section now. They are amazing in this game. You can feel the cars grip the road, tires having rubber ripped from them, bumps knocking up against your suspensions bump stops, so on. There is even more, in older cars with lots of power, you can feel the power of the motor shocking the driveline, the clunk of shifts, things that were unimaginable on consoles. Please you owe it to yourself to take a crappy Civic 1.5vt onto Sebring, and slam the suspension through the "runway" corner.
Graphics: They work, if you are a graphic whore, go cry some place else. They are "flat" as the typical reviewer says. I like to say they are realistic. You go find a picture of a normal car on the track, shining so brightly like its fresh off a showroom floor. Car models are nice, they aren't GT:HD nice, but then again there isn't really any other racing game that has GT:HD nice car models. There is actually one gripe here about the car models from me, the SRT-4 looks like its doors where painted on to a flat exterior. Truly is the worst looking car in the game. The tracks are beautiful on the other hand. Fully articulated crowds, 3-d grass, and other such eye candy. But in all honesty, you have no time to look while going past at 120mph.
Customization: This is Forza's selling point, and its spot on again. Everything from new rims, a fresh paint job, tacky vinyl graphics, to engine/driveline swaps, camber settings, and engine block boreing. If you have 30 weight running through your blood, the game should get your heart racing.
Sound: Pretty **** good, high profile cars sound as they should. All the Ferrari have unique sound, the Skylines, Supras, Lambos, Astons, etc... But other cars, will share engine sounds. Old v-8s share **** near the same sounds, 4 cylinders, etc... Its nice to finally get a real audible difference when you alter the cars motor though. If you upgrade to get more rpms and a wider power band, the car will be noticeably louder and "brassier" as you force more exhaust and faster out of the muffler. Tire sounds, crowds, car collisions, all high quality, but standard affair kind of stuff. Music, ohh the music, I ****ing love the music, its goofy, has no purpose in a racing game, etc... But I love, some of you will love it, some will hate it, the definition of hit-n-miss comes to mind.
XBL Integration: Amazing, racing online, taking photos and then posting them online, auction house, etc... Turn 10 did an amazing, amazing job with all of this and more.
Gripes: They are few, and very far between. The Srt-4 car model is merely a small one. The promise of having one car, carrying a larger load of races, never really happened in this game, sorry to say. I guess if you wanted too, you could have one car carry you for a while. But the nature of the beginning car means chances are it will be FWD, and a small motor. Maybe there will be a swap for a bigger motor or even a different driveline, but don't hold your breathe, your liable to die. Even if you can do these things, they you have to hope the car has a wide selection of tire widths, aero parts, a motor that can reasonably handle a large amount of power, so on and so forth. Just because I can lighten, swap in a 4wd turbo motor, and race(rice) out an Eclipse, giving it enough downforce and so on, and give it a fair amount of power, lets say 500hp, doesn't mean its going to perform like other 500 hp cars. Engines and chassis perform differently even though on paper they may seem identical.
The car leveling system they implemented is strange. It does somewhat the opposite of what they meant it for. As you level up, you gain part discounts, but only for cars in your zone, if you are lucky, most of the time the discount is for only one car brand, or car family (a discounted nissan part will be discounted for Infiniti). This will make you want to race more cars from different regions to get better discounts across the board with all makers. Like I said, it basically does the opposite of what they meant it for.
Buy, don't buy?:
For me this game is a 12/10. I bought my 360 for the Forza series, and Turn 10 completely delivered. If you are a sim racer fan, this game is a solid 10/10. If you are a arcade racer fan, rent the game. Same goes for anyone that doesn't have some sort of motor oil going through their blood.
With perfect racing dynamics and physics, a great car list, a bunch of real-life tracks, etc... This is a racer wet dream. The Paint Job mode is great for the artsy people, and the XBL features are truly a step above all that have come before. This game is amazing and has set a high, high bar for PolyPhony. Anyone who is a racing fan should own this game, and also look intently towards the horizon for Gran Turismo 5 as it approaches. God knows this has to push them to a new level of game developing.
Conclusion ----> Forza 2

Demos never live up to your expectations, I thought R6 Demo absolutely sucked. Bought the game and loved it!
